Same Candy, Ten Times More Power

Pragmatic Play took their most popular candy slot and cranked the multipliers to the max. Sweet Bonanza 1000 dropped in March 2024, and the pitch is simple: everything you loved, but bombs now go up to x1,000 instead of x100.

Marketing gimmick? Partly. The base game is virtually identical — same 6x5 grid, same candies and fruits, same Tumble cascades. But when you enter the bonus and see a x500 bomb next to a x200 bomb... that's a different level of adrenaline entirely. The ceiling jumped from x21,100 to x25,000.

There's also something genuinely new — a Super Bonus for 500x your stake. You start free spins with bombs already on the reels. No warm-up needed. It's for players who find regular bonuses too slow at the start. RTP is 96.53%, marginally above the original.

Try the free demo above. Feel the difference yourself before committing real money.

Worth Upgrading From the Original?

Pros

  • Bombs up to x1,000 — ten times the original's cap
  • x25,000 max win ceiling (up from x21,100)
  • Super Bonus starts you with bombs pre-loaded
  • 96.53% RTP — slightly above the original
  • Bombs accumulate throughout the entire bonus round

Cons

  • 5/5 volatility — harsher drawdowns than the original
  • Super Bonus costs 500x — often doesn't pay back
  • Base game is virtually unchanged from the original
  • Max win probability is lower (1:39,000,000)

Mechanics: Nothing New, But That's Fine

If you've played the original, you know the drill. 6x5 grid, bets from €0.20 to €125, Pay Anywhere mechanics. Land 8+ identical symbols anywhere — position doesn't matter.

Paytable

Base payouts are lower than the original — compensated by the massive multiplier potential. For 8-9 / 10-11 / 12+ symbols:

  • Red Heart: 0.25x / 1x / 5x
  • Purple Lollipop: 0.25x / 1x / 5x
  • Green Candy: 0.2x / 0.5x / 2.5x
  • Blue Lollipop: 0.2x / 0.5x / 2.5x
  • Grapes / Watermelon: 0.15x / 0.3x / 1x
  • Plum / Apple: 0.1x / 0.2x / 0.75x
  • Banana: 0.08x / 0.15x / 0.5x

Scatter is the spiral lollipop. 4+ trigger free spins. No Wilds — same as the original.

Why Tumble Matters More Here

Tumble works the same way — wins disappear, new symbols fall. In base game, it's just nice cascading wins. But during the bonus, each cascade is another shot at landing more bombs. A chain of 5-6 tumbles stacking up bombs is where the real magic happens.

x1,000 Bombs & Super Bonus: The Full Breakdown

The Bombs — The Whole Point

Same concept as the original, different scale. Bombs appear during free spins alongside regular symbols. Possible values: x2, x3, x5, x8, x10, x15, x20, x25, x50, x100, x200, x500, x1,000. All bombs on screen add together.

From my demo session: first tumble — x50 bomb. Second — x200 bomb. Third — x100 bomb. Combined multiplier = x350. A cascade of red hearts (5x base pay) × 350 = x1,750 from a single free spin. Now imagine a x1,000 bomb landing. I saw it once in ~500 demo spins. Unforgettable.

Free Spins

Trigger with 4+ Scatters:

  • 4 Scatters → 10 free spins
  • 5 Scatters → 12 free spins
  • 6 Scatters → 15 free spins

Bombs accumulate throughout the entire bonus — they don't reset between spins. 3+ Scatters retrigger with no cap.

Super Bonus (500x) — For the Bold

500 bets is serious money. What you get: free spins starting with bombs already on the reels. No ramp-up period. RTP is 96.55% — slightly above standard. But honestly, two out of three Super Bonuses in my demo didn't pay back. The third hit x8,400. High ceiling, high floor.

Regular Buy (100x)

Same as the original — 100x for guaranteed free spins. No starting bombs. Pure lottery: will bombs land or not.

96.53% — But Only If Your Casino Hasn't Cut It

The 1000 version has one of the best RTPs in the Pragmatic lineup. Problem is, many casinos run the reduced version. Three options exist:

95.52% Standard
Avoid 94.51% Reduced

How to Check RTP Before Playing

  1. Open the game at your chosen casino
  2. Click the "i" (info) or "☰" (menu) button
  3. Find "Game Rules" or "Theoretical Return"
  4. Make sure RTP is 96.53%

94.51% means losing an extra €20 per €1,000 wagered. Over time, that compounds significantly.

Volatility is 5/5 — harsher than the original. Base game feeds you scraps; big wins come exclusively through bomb multipliers in the bonus. With Ante Bet, expect a bonus roughly every 150 spins. Between bonuses, dry runs of 200-300 spins are perfectly normal at this volatility level.

Original vs 1000: My Side-by-Side Test

I ran 200 spins on each in demo mode with Ante Bet on. Here's what happened.

Original: Steady and Predictable

200 spins, three bonuses triggered. Results: x87, x240, x45. Net result: +72 bets. The experience felt calm — small base game wins kept the balance stable, bonuses were decent but not mind-blowing.

1000 Version: Rollercoaster

200 spins, two bonuses. First bonus — x18 (no meaningful bombs). Second — bombs x100 and x200, heart cascade, total x2,800. Net result: +228 bets. But 140 completely dead spins between bonuses. Emotionally exhausting.

The Verdict

Original = calm sessions with moderate upside. 1000 = patience-testing dry runs rewarded by occasional explosions. Small bankroll? Stick with the original. Ready to gamble 300+ bets? The 1000 version can deliver massive results.

Super Bonus: The Honest Truth

Bought three in demo. Results: x380, x1,200, x8,400. One out of three was a clear loss (380 back on a 500 buy). But the x8,400 made up for everything. At a €1 bet, that's €500 per purchase — not for small balances or weak nerves.

How does Sweet Bonanza 1000 stack up against the original and its "1000" siblings:

Slot RTP Volatility Max Win Bonus Feature
Sweet Bonanza 1000 Sweet Bonanza 1000
96.53% x25,000 100x / 500x Bomb multipliers up to x1,000
Sweet Bonanza Sweet Bonanza (Original)
96.51% x21,100 100x Bombs up to x100
Sugar Rush 1000 Sugar Rush 1000
96.53% x25,000 100x / 500x Position multipliers up to x1,024
Starlight Princess 1000 Starlight Princess 1000
96.53% x15,000 100x Multipliers up to x500

My Take

Sweet Bonanza 1000 is the best "1000" slot for bomb lovers. Same x25,000 ceiling as Sugar Rush 1000, but a completely different feel — bombs vs position multipliers. Starlight Princess 1000 is gentler at x15,000 cap. The original Sweet Bonanza is safer long-term but has a lower ceiling. My approach: alternate between the original and 1000 depending on my mood and bankroll.

Sweet Bonanza 1000 — Common Questions

Can you actually hit a x1,000 bomb?

Yes, but it's a jackpot-level event. In ~500 demo spins, my highest was x500. The x1,000 bomb is a once-in-a-lifetime hit for most players. But even x100 + x200 together create serious multipliers.

Is the Super Bonus worth 500x?

Mathematically yes — RTP is slightly higher (96.55%). In practice, one out of my three demo purchases was a clear loss (x380 return on 500x cost). The other two more than compensated. It's for players with deep pockets.

Does the base game differ from the original?

Barely. Same symbols, same Tumble, same rules. The entire difference lives in the bonus round where bombs can reach x1,000.

How big should my bankroll be?

Minimum 300 bets with Ante Bet on. At 5/5 volatility, expect 200+ spin dry runs. Without Ante Bet, bring 400+ bets.

Why are base payouts lower than the original?

Because the multiplier potential is 10x higher. Pragmatic shifted the math: less from base payouts, more through bombs. This is the standard approach for all "1000" versions.

Should I play with Ante Bet?

Almost always yes. Without it, bonuses trigger half as often. At 5/5 volatility, that means extremely long dry spells. Most experienced players keep Ante Bet permanently on.

Switched from the original to the 1000 version about two months ago and it's a completely different beast. The base game? Identical, nothing changes there. But the bonus rounds are on another level. Had a session where I bought three regular bonuses at NZ$2.50 bet. First two were mediocre — x35 and x62. Third one though: x200 bomb on the second spin, then x100 on the fourth, then a retrigger. Final cascade had hearts everywhere with x300 combined multiplier. Walked away with x4,200. One thing I'll say — make absolutely sure your casino runs 96.53% RTP. I checked mine after reading about reduced versions and it turned out they were running 95.52%. Switched casinos immediately. Only complaint: the dry spells between bonuses are brutal. Sometimes 200+ spins of nothing.
